What was that?
« on: 07 March 2012, 14:32:17 »

Hi guys, just a little annoyance that has happened to me today.
I was driving for maybe 10 miles, doing 30/35 mph when I noticed gauges for km/h and rpm went down to zero but just for a second, not longer, than came back up and working fine. Car was driving nice even when this happened, no eml on, no codes stored.
It reminds me of cam sensor on it's way out.
Any other idea maybe?

Make sure the instrument panel is fully home.

Unlikely to be ABS or crank sensor as both happened (speed coming from ABS and RPM coming from crank sensor via engine ecu) at the same time and the chances of two intermmitent faults from two totaly different subsytems are pretty low!

If it happens again, press firmly in the centre of the glass. If that fixes it, it's the dash to clocks connection as said.

Update...
Took my kids to kindergarden today and this issue reapired again. But I got sn EML on this time - code 0560 - voltage too high/ too low.
I 've measured the voltage
800 rpm - 14,3V
1500 rpm - 14,3V
2800rpm - 14,3V....
Any suggestion or idea what to look at next, guys?
Thanks, Stan

System voltage malfunction, according to list I have.

Disconnected clocks might cause that I suppose, but you need a more electrickly minded member than me.
