Missing my Mummy.
« on: 08 March 2012, 21:06:05 »

I'm learning to live with it. Life has to go on & it is but it's not always easy to say the least. Mostly i'm fine, doing ok but it only takes the slightest thing to well me up & cry like a baby. Happened today in the truck on the M62 heading home when this came on the radio....

Shed those tears mate, it's nothing to be ashamed of. If it makes it easier then do it. That's where I went wrong many years ago, took me along time to let it out. Sometimes even after all these years I still cry.

This time of year is always worst Guy because every T,D & H is bombarding you with Mothers Day stuff on the Internet, Telly, Highstreet etc., & it really hits home that you can never again physically tell her how much you loved her or appreciated her. Time probably will make things easier. It's been over 7 yrs since I lost my mum & I still miss her dreadfully, but she is no longer in the forefront of my mind every waking moment as she was for the first few years. Your Mum is still alive in your Heart and Mind Guy and you only have to think of her for her to be there with you. No words from myself or anyone else will make you feel any better, but try and put a positive slant on your thoughts, & if you believe in God or an Afterlife, then it should be a comfort that you will, in time see her again. God Bless mate. :(

She knew she was going & chose this by Helen Lowrie Marshall.

I'd like the memory of me
     to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done,
I'd like to leave an echo
    whispering softly down the ways.
     of happy times & laughing
       times and bright and
          summer days.
I'd like the tears of those who
grieve to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories that i leave
       when life is done.

:( venom got it right, lost mine many years ago but still get the odd wet eye if something hits the memory button.....
It does get easier though and the most important thing is to understand that she will always be in your heart wherever you are.
Chin up m8 and toss a few back in toast to her.................
Can't find a suitable 'smillie' to put here so I will leave it there........

There is nothing like the words of a small child to cure most bad feeling, mine was the same when I lost my mum. Time heals, but never cures.
