Hi Guys

Hoping for a bit of advice please.

The other day heard a clunck and my Auxilary Belt slackened off. No Alternater, No Power steering etc

Found that the belt tensioner had come adrift because the top bolt holding it on had sheared off, vertually flush with the bracket :(

I have tried to drill a hole in the bolt with a right angled drill extension, thinking I could try a stud extractor in it.

But it is proving near impossable, what with the radiator and A/C pipes in the way.

It looks like the bracket that the bolt has sheared from is holding on the, what I would call the A/C condensor pump.

Does anyone know if this can be removed with or without the pump.

Or if anyone has an exploded view of the 2.2 Dti Engine.

It would be very much appreciated. I'm getting a bit desperate :o

Cheers Gary

Generaly the tensioner collapses and ends up at full travel. Both of our DTi's have suffered this.

Thanks for the reply. The Tensioner has been replaced about 6 months ago. I don't know why the bolt has sheared. But I can't put it back on until I get the remainder of the bolt out.

Thought I would post these. Photo from below. the bolt thread is in the top hole.

Not been able to find much information, but looking at this picture it would seem the Aircon bracket is secured in a number of places.

Thank you VXL V6

That photo is really helpful :y

Looks like a nightmare to get off without removing the A/C unit.

Not sure how I'm going to do it :( :-\

But I'm going to have to get that bracket out to drill it.

Might be easier to lift the radiators out and have a straight angle of attack at the bolt stub?

Thanks for the advice. Had considered that but that looked more work.

It looks like there are 2 radiators?

Obviously one is for engine cooling, what is the other for?

Is it a big job to take them out?

thanks again :y

Other one is for Aircon.

Not a big job to take them out but it's going to mean disconnecting the coolant hoses and the aircon connections which means that the gas will have to be removed by an aircon specialist and the coolant will have to be drained then coolant refilled and aircon regassed..... Unless anyone knows any different?

Arr Thanks, should have thought of that, my brain is really not working at the moment. No Car - No Work - No Money :(

and nobody wants to take the job on.

So either way, I'm going to have to degas the A/C :-\

If I stick with my origonal plan of removing the bracket.

I have just had another look at removing the A/C Compressor and the front/top bolt looks near impossible to get at.

I can feel it covered on 3 sides by a plastic clip, which itself works as a bracket for one of the A/C pipes.

How you are supossed to get anything on it. I dont know :(

Has anyone removed the compressor on a 2.2 Dti?
