Getting help...especialy via VXON
« on: 24 October 2006, 08:53:26 »

I'm a member on VXON and also posting threads asking for help there etc

However getting blanked......

I understand I'm new to the forum etc but does wind me up that until I click up 'X'-amount of posts or have my car looked at etc I'm lower than low despite paying membership fees

I put a thread up saying just that and now getting told that my attitude is bad!!!!

I have paid my fee I would like the benefit of being a paid subscriber is that too much to ask?
Apparently it is!!

There are number on here who have been told our attitude is bad by the dark side.....me included (hence why we set this forum up).

We all try to help everybody on here whether you have 0 posts or as many as AA!

All the help you need should be here, however Andy i share your frustration.

I recently had my wife join the other side all very proper so i could discuss some vectra issues. Nil response two weeks later despite it being in the correct area - i have had more helop on here from Marks DTM and TheBoy!

Similarly i dont think the Rover forum offers the level of support to its members that you get on here either.

We are the best  :y

Agree with you totally.

Stepping back a bit, my problem is that I'm on a limited amount of time to get stuff done before I'm away for 2 months. I would love to get as much done before the days get shorter, colder and wetter still

I fully apprieciate that the Omega is not a new car and that help maybe a bit slow coming but will get there eventually.

Also been under 'house arrest' since 1st October when my son was born

This is a classic example of why we set this forum up in the first place. About 6 months ago I had an almighty row with them and told them I would go and set up an Omega forum. After a consultaion with the other forum admins, here we are.

Yes, we will help anyone regardless of age, race, number of posts, age or even age. (that last bit is for AA who is 102 years old and Laidback66 who is just turning retirement).

If you ever feel left out on this forum, just PM one of the ADmins and we will get back to you within the day for sure.

What seem to me is that both Omega forums are currently un-balanced.

The Other Side has too few knowledgeable people and far too many newbies asking questions. This is because the sage ones all left and came here...

This site is quite the opposite… as soon as newbie asks a question here, all the heavy guns immediately jump to his/her assistance, which is good. However at the current expansion rate this will not be sustainable for long – so it is inevitable that at some point of time the experts/newbie ratio will become diluted. Which is why it is important that the rest of us catch up with things so that we are able to give out advice – a quick (and helpful) reply is what will keep people attracted to this site.

This is my observation anyway…

Lets face it, we were always considered 'different' over there. RWD omegas have very liittle in common with the rest of the Vx range. Cost me a membership fee as well. But, I'm not bitter. BAST**DS!

Still a member but haven't been back since having discovered this site, the old site imo always seemed to have a bad vibe about it in the other sections, and what with finding the RWD section the most helpful I stayed in there.

The new place (Here) imo is a much better source in comparison to the other site keep up the good work Admin and all who post.  :y :y :y :y :y

I found the merc forum a bit 'cold' if you know what i mean......i asked a question serveral times over a period of months.......eventually someone replied saying its defo your water pump.....6months later my alternator pulley sheared off! I just accepted the fact that they didnt really know what the problem was.
I havent been back to that forum in a very long time now.
