It should work the other way around. A cold day with cold more dense air should give more bang per buck.

 Just a long day and looked like one of those day that no one was it a big rush to get anywhere. Also had my 5 year old son telling me about the Tranfromers movie he was waching in the back

great film that ! get your foot down will get simaler mpg at 80/85

Cost of fuel these days tunnie...ive been to Heathrow this evening and drove no faster than 70mph (as i do all the time obviously) and used far less fuel than i have done in the past

  Took my son to gulavers kindom alst week and lets just say that it was over 60 and the car did see some good 3rd line action. Have to love the v6 when opened up .

I find even my 2.2, sits best, and is most econmical doing just under 80.

Just feels its most 'natural' cruise speed, if i sit at 60 or 70 it just 'keeps' wanting to go fast.... just sits nice at 80

On the speed camera section of the M25 I was getting average of nearly 30mpg

Thats right its a great day out  cost is £15  for park and the eco park full day out  lots of fun if you can go the kids will love it and so will you.I was a bigger kid than my son and he,s 5

Tractor is twice as economical at 80mph as it is at 40mph, according to FC

My 3.2 will also return 37 MPG at 65 ish. It tails off steadily above that. About 32 / 33 MPG at 70 ish, 30 MPG at 80 ish... 21 MPG at 120 on the autobahn. [smiley=evil.gif]

Oh, and whilst and engine will produce more power in cold, dense air, I find I get better fuel economy in warm weather. The engine spends less time in warmup enrichment after a cold start (which wastes a lot of fuel).
