Toys, big, toys, cheap, toys, fairly powerfull, toys, comfy, toys, rwd, toys, understated.

It's also "fully loaded" as well, for it's age.
(sorry, one for wankword bingo there)

Plus. Last but by no means least....it has a very knowledgable and helpfull forum. You may have heard of it...? OOF or sumat like?  ;D

as barges go, it's very pretty.

overtaking grunt is good...

load carrying ability is class beating.

handling is surprisingly agile for such a large car.

and it's comfy,  and has sufficient toys

driving position and seating is long-drive survivable,  even with a knackered spine...

all that , and yet understated,  civilised, and very much a Q car...    looks like distinguished granddad,  goes like a loutish teenager... scares the crap outta boy racers.....

take one for a spirited spin through snowdonia,  and you'll KNOW why....

Large, comfy mile eater. One of the few cars I can do 600+ miles virtually non-stop in a day.  Cheap to buy and relatively cheap to run for its size, esp on LPG.

And an open, welcoming, friendly owners forum to help out, which is worth an awful lot more...

Got a link?  :P ;)

Cavernous boot (Estate) did it for me (my first 2.5TD) - cavernous boot with a comfy interior and reasonable speed & handing for it's size does it for me (the 3.2). Be nice if it got 800 to the tank, though.. ;D

It's a jack of all trades, speed, economy, practicality etc, and a master of comfort. Plus it's understated and under estimated by the masses who most unpleasantly have their noses put out of joint when the realisation dawns on them that the £££s they're shelling out every month for their fwd supershit box wasn't such a good deal. Plus there's no snob factor in the Omega. Bonus!

Cheap to buy, cheap to run for what it is.

Lots of toys to keep me happy, rides and handles well.  Sufficient grunt.

Although I do love my NCDC 2015, I wish there were better options to get my mp3's on there.

Unfortunately true when it comes to some of the modern diesels  :(

I know this doesn't prove much but still here's a YouTube drag Omega 3.0 V6 vs Skoda Diesel....

I've asked this question many a time but unless I want to go see somebody who ask's me about my childhood I just don't know. My old man always had big cars as we towed a caravan. So I grew up travelling every where in the back of a Zodiac mk4,SD1 Rover and a Volvo 264. I guess it rubbed off on me. I got my first Carlton when I was 23 before that I had a Granada. I did do the hot hatch thing but not for very long I've just always liked big cars. Yet big beemers or Jags just don't appeal. So I stick with the Vauxhalls. Carlton, Senator and the Omega. Yep there's faster out there but I just like em. Even if I do think the V6 in the Omega is a bit of a Marmite sandwich. I think the straight six engine is mustard also. Having said that I do have half a rollerscate as my daily which I don't mind driving. Oh I don't know. I just like em.  :)
