Panic stations !!!!!! Everyone will be panic buying thats for sure  :(

They were this morning in Sainsburys! 18 minutes it took me to get to a pump! Couldn't get out either because of an idiot in an Astra had stopped literally cm's from my bumper.

Called in at the local Tescos & it was queueing off the forecourt!  ??? ??? I knew my Astra needed diesel so took that to the same Tesco about an hour ago, it was still not much better! £100+ of fuel in one day!  :'(

Just read this comment on the BBC news website re: tanker drivers:

"my partner is a tanker driver. They work massivley long hours, often up to 15 hours per day. They carry not only fuels but a variety of exceedingly dangerous and corrosive substances. They have to meet deadlines and contracts and UK drivers are trained to a very high standard - often undercut by firms from abroad with no training - all this and driving vehicles that only do 8 miles per gallon...."

I had no idea that tanker drivers had to pay for their own fuel! Puts their grievances in a completely different light...

 ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

.. and does it really make any rather difference to the driver whether it's milk or 95  RON in the back?

Exactly.   ;D

It would make sense if the driver was paying per dram for a good 18 year old malt as fuel but, FFS, its company diesel so - who gives a whatsit??

Eventually, they price / strike themselves out of a job.  >:( >:( >:(

Think ship building, car manufacturing, ship building, newspapers, then the Marxist union morons move on to their next target.

My younger brother, used to work for a local paper who did their own printing. Militant union rep and his senior brothers caused all sorts of trivial disputes. My younger brother could see the writing on the wall, local paper sold out the national printing group, who kept local journalists and closed the printing works.  >:( >:( >:(

Bob Crow is always calling underground drivers out on strike 23 in 4 years. Boris Johnston has had enough, his aim is to have the whole network automated ASAP, Northern line will be by 2014 and most other lines by 2018, so no drivers required.

It always gets me when they quote 85% voted to strike, then you find out only 30% bothered to vote.

Militant minoritory wins.

Strike action was indeed decided upon by a minority of the members concerned.

Non voters are counted as agreeing. Rightly or wrongly this is what all governments and councils and boardrooms etc. use to get things passed. Bit unfair to to say unions are not allowed to use the same tactic as our elected officials.

I am not saying I agree with the strike, but it does seem the average working person is shouldering more of the burden of the recession than those that caused it.

...and it would be even more of a burden if Labour had held power.
