Personally, I would prefer the gradual loading of a known rope load after a frekkin fast run into the great blue yonder and its stretch range versus the shock load of a pile of knicker elastic and its proximity to the jaggy rocks below......   ;D

I did something similar years ago off an old railway bridge in Devon, its one heck of an adrenaline buzz, :y

I think the term you're looking for is a cagoule of tomato puree. ;)

 :o mmm, just what you need-fastening all your safety gear to a Victorian railway bridge that's had no maintenance work done to it since it was last used in the early 60s, no wonder they get disclaimers signed !!
