Coolant Leak at rear of Engine
« on: 28 March 2012, 21:42:33 »

Dear All,
my Omega 2.5 V6 has developed a coolant leak at the rear of the engine. it appears to be a thin metal pipe above the gearbox. Any advice on how to replace/repair?
Cheers

Thin metal pipe... About 10-12mm diameter...?

If so they are oil cooler pipes, suspect it's running down from else where maybe?

Scuttle off and run the engine IMO. See if you can spot the source. Hbv is favourite usually.

Had a guy with a camera on this and it seemed to be a pipe leaking. Have changed the HBV already and checked as much as possible without having access to the crowded area low down at rear of the engine. I  will try and get some more definitive info for you guys to analyse.

If its not HBV - look at hose from coolant bridge to HBV, coolant bridge seals, oil cooler plate, thermostat
