It's a thought ....

Petrol at 145.9 p/litre * 4.54 = £6.62.386 / gall

At 76.09 p/litre, £6.62.386 buys 8.7053 litres LPG or 1.917 galls LPG.

Driving solo I average 21 mpg on LPG (I'm not known for hanging about ..... )

21 X 1.917 = 40.257

So I'm getting the equivalent of 40 mpg from a 3.2 litre luxobarge ... not many oilburners are doing that

Great news. BUT contrary to what you say, many modern oil burning luxobarges do 40mpg, and more. But, they are 10 or more years newer.

Agree with you, my temporary runabout is a skoda superb 1.9TD .....and these are big heavy cars, nearly as big as an omega.....i get 40 mpg out of it just running constantly about town.....it goes upto 50mpg when i take it on a run......and its 5 years old with 240k on the clock 

Altho i suspect if it was the 2.5td auto superb it would do less to the gallon....

I don't normally venture into the land of the inbreds, and its about 44m round trip.

I guess for the sake of a fiver, or whatever it is, I should sign up, as there is no other LPG at all out that way.

If only it was that cheap round these parts Entwood. That country wide scheme, or what ever it's called, doesn't stretch much past Swindon. Forecourt price ranges from 81p to 83.9p these days. Although the later has a loyalty card giving an average of 5p a litre off. Thier forcourt price was 84.9p at one point. Bloody cheack.

Must admit I am quietly smug with LPG fitted currently. A range of up to £500+ miles "IF" needed.

Those figures don't quite add up as favourably here though. Still, could be worse.

Cardiff is cheap as well ... its all down to competition ...  in Cardiff over 15 outlets .. including 2 supermarkets .... in Swindon just 3 .. one of which is account only .... oh for a supermarket to sell the stuff ..

ouch !! I paid 80.9 in Kinloss last October .. but Morrisons in Glasgow was only 66.9 at the time .. down here it was then 73.92   ... big differences

Popped in to get a tyre off mutantcav on the way home from skegness last summer.
I was paying 64.9 at home at the time.
Aparently only 3 garages selling lpg round there at the time.
Sounds like they must have got there heads together and ..............

The variances are crazy..

The only LPG station within 5 miles of me is a BP at 82.9p - the only other option within 10 miles is a Total 9 miles away at 77.9p; that's 5p/L difference.

Near work there are more options, 11 in fact, with a range of 6p - 76.9p (coincidentally a Total, right by work) and 81.9p (another BP)..


Petrol, on the other hand, varies at most 2p/L - between Sainsbury and Shell, and it's usually 1p.

Yeah, one of the biggest Asda's is near work. No kiosks, so will never get LPG there
