Not sure but I know that alfa / fiat was designing engines with renault in the late 90's  :-\

Indeed, pretty sure it's the Renault F9Q in that era Megane: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_F-Type_engine#F9x

Renaults own engine....they need tender loving care to keep them going (e.g. change the oil regularly!)

The same engines are used in the Vx and Nissan vans.....and you see plenty with goosed power plants!

ill do what i can for them i.e cambelt service ect at cost of parts [give me somat to do anyway]

Check the injectors. known issues and bloody pricey to fix.
