I need to remove the tiles on the bath panel, they are stuck on fairly solid, question is can I get them off without them breaking?

I was thinking scraper tool in-between the tile & adhesive + hammer?

Wide flat bladed cold chisel, not a scraper, and if you're very, very lucky they'll come off in one piece..

..but that's not entirely likely (based on my experience of getting the tiles off around the shower here recently!).

If I were you and you're considering having the bathroom replaced, I'd replace the bath side with a GRP or wood affair (B&Q/Wickes/Homebase) screwed to the frame with cup washers as that'll be much easier to pop off in the interim. Then when you do the bathroom finally, if you want a tiled side be sure to include an inspection hatch (retained with magnetic catches and with a knob handle to remove) and buy a couple of boxes of spare tiles just in case you ever need to break off an area.

Yes thats my plan, mine needs to be customised a bit due to the floor. So might just get ply wood cut to shape, then painted. Main bathroom is fine, its just a pig to actually get this feking panel off to see whats going on.

personally, I doubt you'll ever get the tiles off without breaking so just re board and re tile.

If you are lucky enough to get the tiles off you should be able to get the old adhesive off them with boiling water and lots of scraping.  Personally I'l bin them and go for something plain to retile with and get plenty of them in case you break a few off again.

TBH the GRP panels in DIY shops are a rip off ( cheap look crap and I'm too stingy to spend on a good one).  I reckon on £30 for tiling a bath panel, all in

I paid about 21 quid for my plastic bath side from Wickes... dead easy to cut to size and it looks ok too.

Sure as god made little apples they will break , be really carefull though, the tile spinters are VERY sharp , and wear goggles , some of the tiles will blow like grenades , as i have found out to my cost

ok i give you that.  Trouble is that where I live there is only homebase and a trip in there leaves me ranting like Victor Meldrew at their prices...

there are 2 jewsons,2 buildbase depots in coventry,cheaper than homebase

Yes, forgot to say that! I was hoping tunnie was safety minded enough but, you raise a fair point.. took several chunks out of my hands getting the tiles off around the shower when I did it; there's a reason they make ceramic knives!

And I'm surprised nobody pointed this out but I did, of course, mean bolster chisel not cold chisel

but not so in deepest worcestershire ( where SWMBO is, and all the DIY jobs are....)
