Just depends what the underneath is like aaronjb. Sills are a PITA on them they rot from the inside out. Also it mentions the windscreen having the onset of tin worm - that doesn't bother me much though. Big think with Jags of that era is the suspension mounts & PAS especially wi all that weight of that great lump. I remember a good few years ago doin me dads handbrake on his Daimler (Inbored discs)  :o :o :o I swore NEVER again!

It just depends really on the s/history AND a really good visual inspection / test drive. (Oh and the other half) nearly forgot that bit.

Very nice looking car for a 29 year old :o,he mentions the fuel sender unit being faulty but wouldn't there be two of them fitted?(one for each tank)which would make the gauge itself possibly faulty?,still a lovely motor though  and the HE has fuel injection so no carb balancing :y

I actually own a brace of these beautiful cars, one silver and one blue. They cost me £80 each and are 1/12 scale models made by Maisto. They even come with their own certificate.

The real thing cost £403,000... :D :D :D :D :D

With regard to looks ......I fully agree, Entwood. It is achingly beautiful...........Think Cameron Diaz dipped in warm chocolate :-* :-* :-*

That anaemic sounding V6 did it no favours though. :-\ :-\

The XJ220 never did a thing for me, looks wise.. it's very.. 'wind tunnel'.

An E-type or XK120, however? Much more beautiful, IMHO. And had the XJ13 ever gone into production, well..

Side elevation, yes. But from the front the front the narrow track  means it drops a mark or two. :-\ The later V12 was better in this respect. :y :y

would only really have a pre-90's Jag if I was a really competent and practiced welder.

Other that, there's not a lot to fault them. Probably the last truly good-looking saloon car.
