Looks like a normal every day commute to me.
I dunno, I don't "agree" with road racing tbh. Although there is no argument about it to agree or disagree with in the first place.
If people want to race, they should be allowed to. Of course. But when all is said and done, when the shit slides off the saddle, I'd prefer to see such obviously talented individuals have a better chance of survival.
Although, generally, it depends on your focus point how you perceive the performance. If your looking at the bike in front, from a riders point of view, it's not possible to go too fast. A bike gives a feeling of wearing the machine. It can become an extension of your limbs and senses as if you can feel the Tarmac itself. Your not aware of the danger, pain, the rock hard seat, the wind ripping your head off, or the kerb and the barbed wire fences.
But on the other hand, it's not uncommon for a rider to sit and watch a similar race or event to the one he competes in himself from the side of the exact same track and say "Christ almighty..." in shock as a spectator. Only for his friends and acquaintances to tell him "yeah, that's what we said watching YOU go round"
If these events didn't exist, riding like that amongst every day motorists would be way more common.
If you get the chance, watch TT Closer to the edge with Guy Martin. Afaik that's the first film with the bottle to convey why they compete with such risks.
Personally I don't care what anyone says, there is no better experience than riding a sports bike... Well, one that works anyway, unlike that Gsxr piece of crap i once had
Not that it's peformance level was anything like those things, they really are a completely different world in performance.
We once did an acu track day at Almeria in Spain. February pre season warm up and some pukka race teams use it for testing. We noticed a rather quick Honda Fireblade belting round. Obviously very well fettled, factory swing arm, traction control spitting away out of the exhaust and scaring the shit out of everyone anywhere near it on track. Nobody could get anywhere near it on times, but most people had nothing more expensive than super stock spec bikes. We later found out he was competing in BSB as a privateer. Which explained it, proper quick bike just cleared off and left everyone for dead.
So we all watched the first round of BSB to see where he finished. Last! Dead rather Last. Completely Differant world of performance.
All things are relative. And for anyone not used to bikes, I guess that footage might appear a little unhinged I suppose.
