P0300 Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected

Evening, just came back from the hampshire meet and i noticed when slowing down the rev counter would go up and down between 400 and 800rpm, on the motorway it drove fine when i got near home i tried to give it some and it would not have it then the  i thinks its the alt light come on so i did the pedal trick and got the above anybody tell what has died now and  :'(and what i need to do to repair it.

Hi chris if i read it right it repeated the same numbers twice. Should there have been more.

Just went through this problem on one of mine (2.6 cd estate) need to know whether its on one bank or both banks really......was it wet on the motorway?

It was quite damp on roads around location I had this on another Vauxhall found out it being one of the injectors was not connected properly at the electrical connectors on the injector rail be good to know which one did you do tinkering today have you knocked something :-[

Hi just been out to the car again, read the codes it gave me 0300 +0302. On the way to winchester it rained but not to heavy. on the way home nice and dry. I did not have any thing done today a part from a code read from kevin and there was no codes stored.

Thats cylinder 2.....could be just a plug gone down.

Thats cylinder 2.....could be just a plug gone down.

Exact same on my mates vaux check electrical connectorson the injectors not come loose  :y

Hi I have just had the plugs done about a month ago by jamesv6 would there have gone already??

No, but there may well be water dripping on bank 2 from the scuttle.

Night be worth a hose pipe test. Oh actually better make that a watering can. ;)

I did have water coming thru the rubber at the bottom of the windscreen when the car was worked on but i sealed the windscreen right across the car. would it get in from somewhere else and what do i need to change now. A plug or something else.cheers Paul

Spray water on the screen with the bonet open and you,ll be able to see for yourself. One way or another.

If the plugs were done the other day it's probably not that......re what chris is saying if your car is the same as mine you will have a foam pad just above the coil pack plug on the scuttle, this gets sodden with water and drips onto the plug.

If it's not water, then the next thing to do it whip the coil pack out and check for oil in the plug wells caused by a leaking cam cover gasket.  :y

Sorry should have said full service done including cam covers..

If looking at the engine from the front bumper is that over the right had side(passenger side)
