How the heck do you get it off????

Hi...
I got all the parts I need to fit Cruise Control but...
I have pulled the pin from the throttle cable but the bloody thing won't pop off????
I tried to prise it using a trim tool, screw drivers and BFI but it doesn't want to part company with the throttle arm!!!!!  >:(

I got a pair of mole grips attached the on as tight as I could in the circle and used abit of BFI only took a couple of wiggles  ;D

I really can't see how! It's loose but just won't go!!!
It's getting to the point where I'm bending the arm and damaging the end of the cable....
