is it possible to remove the lambda sensors and block the hole.im trying to get my mpg down and these seem to be a problem a lot of the time.if not then think i better replace them.

Technically yes you could screw a bung into them and block them off, but this will cause you nothing but grief and will make your problems wose.

Without the lambdas you will always be running open loop and it will chuck even more fuel in!

We need more info to assist in diagnosis - symptoms - fault codes - current performance and economy info, etc.

Get your MPG down? 

Removing lambda sensors will make it run very rough, also kill the cats...

If you remove them, engine would be in permanent limp. If there are working correctly, it ensures optimum fuelling

What sort of mpg do you get around town / A road (60 mph) and motorway (call it 80 mph) at the moment? Also, Estate / Saloon, engine size, gearbox?

They're heavy cars with fairly big engines. If they're used for short journeys round town and they don't get a chance to warm up they burn fuel like it is going out of fashion, especially if you've got a heavy right foot!

its a 2.5 cdx estate.lately ive been getting 19mpg around town which i think is v good.this is since i went to east coast last week,i got 32mpg on motorway.but before i got 12-15 mpg around town.cheers tiger ill let you know might even take a ride out one weekend.
