Removing sick from drivers footwell

Alright guys.

Felt rough for the last couple of days, got a cough, cold, bones ache etc and coming home from work today, I couldn't help but throw up - there wasn't anywhere to pull over and it got me off guard. Tomorrow morning I've got to drive from up north to Falmouth in the south west for a marine engineering course interview. I've already cleaned up what I can but are there any household remedies that'll help me get rid of the smell etc?

I've mopped it out, scrubbed it with washing up liquid with a little blob of bleach in then left it to dry out with the foot well blowers on. Given it a spray and scrub with AG interior shampoo too. Can still smell it though. Any ideas?

Get a load of open pots of coffee (like, loads of jar lids, empty tubs, just a lot of shallow containers) and leave them around as much of the interior as you can, apart from on top of the, er, deposit itself. And Febreze the hell out of it in the morning.

Febreze.

It wil more than likely take a few shots over a handful of days, but if febreze can remove the smell of spilt diesel from an interior then removing the smell of puke is a walk in the park.

Didn't work in mine  :( both kids sick in the back of the wife's car and no matter what I try can't get rid of the smell. I've wet vac'd the carpet made sure I haven't missed any but it still humms in there. I thought I got it all but there's always a under smell if you like. Next step is to take the interior out and jet wash the carpet. Just waiting for a nice day to do it

People who clean aeroplane interiors used to use coke cola. They just poured it on, waited abit and then vacuumed it up. Probably have a better solution by now.

Ambersil Groom Upholstery Foam :y black can with an orange cap. Halfrods or local factors £5 ish per can :y have used a commercial version for aircraft cleaning and it is the dogs danglies :y

I only use this and autoglym leather cleaner in my car and never ever had an air freshener in there. Be sure to check under the seat and pedals. Personally I'd pull up the sill trim as well :-\

Coke Cola is brilliant on ovens as well  :o Got one of those febreze car fresheners the other day, very good and powerful even on the closed setting it's quite strong and pleasant  :y

Smell is nearly gone, got some AG Autofresh in the car to spray around if it gets worse. Cheers guys. Leaving in a minute. 367 miles, woo!

Put a kipper in with the pollen filter, you won't smell the sick then ;)

After braving the sick smell and waking up at half 2 this morning and not being able to get back to sleep, I passed the interview so from September onwards I'll be based in Falmouth for 2 years!

Better still, the car never missed a beat in the 720 miles in 2 days. Drove all the way back from Falmouth on one £43 tank of LPG. Couldn't really be a better day!

Try sprinkling Bi-carb over the area and leave for an hour or so, it will absorb the smell and then just hoover it up.
failing that leave half an onion in the car over night it neutralises smells, ok you get an onion pong for a short while but it dissipates quicker than puke smell
