the unit in mine CCR2005.. works fine but i cant turn it off.. can lower the volume but cant switch unit off.... obviously im refering to when car is going and not on 24 hours per day :D   any ideas?

On the rear of the on/off/volume knob is a small circuit board.  This plugs into the main circuit board.  Not uncommon for these to have a bad connection which will only effect some functions of the knob.

Pull the unit out of the car and removed the fascia panel.  Make sure the small board is pushed fully home, and check for any dry solder joints while you're there.  :y

Oooo i'll give it to someone else to do... sounds complicated to me  ;D pull this out solder that circuit board this...

You sure you are pushing the knob while tryin it off? Just a thought and several times we all do mislook the obvious as I just did with my wishbones/lower ball joints  :y
