Need a LPG Expert to look at my plumbing
« on: 26 April 2012, 00:10:32 »

Not me personally, but a 3.2 Manual thats been remapped (ex Police), Im looking at changing the thermostat first as Im not convinced its doing what it does on the tin, what I can say is the Throttle bodies have been by passed (by the Police) so guessing that may have a anti 'carb ice effect' if really cold.

Looking at the water / LPG system it seems to go all over the place, so any LPG experts on here could have a quick look and advise?

Looking around the the end of may before summer starts, anyone want to have a poke about, dont mind travelling.

Thanks Chris.

Edit,  throws up 300. 302, 304, 306 on LPG when cold then goes limp mode, runs fine on petrol if that helps, not convinced its electrical.

Stock
Coolant bridge > hbv

With LPG
Coolant bridge > vapourisor > hbv

That really is about it.

A pic?

Will bare in mind if we go to H's parents out the a12, or did you mean bring it over here...?

Just seen your edit. Checked the coil lack on the pas bank? Its always that side that plays up. Suspect water from the scuttle dripping on the cp and leaking into the plug wells. Rust will be evident if so. Just enough tu weaken the spark on gas.

If the petrol ecu sees a miss fire over a designated period it shuts the cylinder down until re start.

Worth a look at ignition system while it's apart from the stat change. Couple of plenum bolts screwed into the cp holes will pull aid removal.

Bit more info, it will through the codes up even when warm (say 90c) on lpg, but if I reset the the ECU at hot temp whilst driving (yea, I know), its fine until the next day (next cold start).

They haven't diverted the throttle body coolant feed to the vapouriser, have they? That never ends well. ;)
