Also worth dowmloading is Malwarebytes, free version, and running a Malware scan once a week.

A frisnd of mine swears by the free version of Advanced System Care for slow computers, not totally convinced on that one but a few poeple seem to like it.

Fresh install often quicker, safer & gives better results  :y

I do agree but what's the best way to save all of the stuff you have on there. When I've done it in the past I've sacrificed some stuff. Do you copy it to a separate hard-drive, format, load recovery disc and then copy the bits back.  :-\ Last time I just binned everything and started again. Didn't realise what I'd lost until I went to use it.   ::)
I do most stuff on gaypad/pod/phone But just curious as to the most straightforward route.
