;D ;D Relay is inside the ECU, powers up when ignition switched on. Don`t think it`s a "user serviceable part"

Doesnt sound like the usual fault though.Thats a very fine bonded wire which breaks iirc.May be best to source a pump/ecu unit and get some one to fit it. :-\

Previous owner claimed to have had ABS ECU repaired last year. Could be under warranty if any paperwork or details available ?

No, no paperwork Albs.
I may just park this car up when the tax runs out at the end of May.
Before this, I was using a Toyota Previa which I bought over three years ago. It has passed three mot's in my ownership now with no work required. I never even have to check the oil level between changes, because it never uses any. Doesn't use water either. I was very reluctant to sell the Previa when I bought this Omega, which seems like a wise decision. I only bought the Omega because I fancied something a little newer and sleeker. If only the previous owner had been totally upfront when he sold it to me, I'd have known what to expect. If I can source a reasonably priced abs ecu (if it's the ecu I need, and not the entire pump), I'll give it a go at fixing it. The car also needs the exhaust downpipe to manifold o rings renewing too. With my work, I just don't have lots of time to spare to work on it.
So, if anyone's got a CHEAP abs ecu to sell, drop me a pm, please.
Or, as already stated, has anyone got a part number? There's a couple of ecu's on the bay of e at the moment, but don't really want to buy one if it's no good for the car.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Part number is irrelevant. As long as ECU is from same year, engine & gearbox it`ll do

So, it's got to be a year 2000 2.5 auto ecu?
That's going to narrow it down a tad.
The ecu's on ebay are from slightly older cars I believe.
Looks even more of a possibilty the Previa will be back in use soon.

Thanks Colin.
Going to try the contact cleaner/hitting with a spanner route first.
Yes, I know it's cheapskate and I'll eventually have to change the ecu.
Didn't even look at the car yesterday, waited for the rain to stop, then eventually tackled my garden.
Going to ATS Euromaster today to have the exhaust blow looked at.
Meanwhile, my Toyota sits in the front garden saying 'why don't you use me again, there's nothing wrong with me'.

And it looks like the winner is going to be.......the Toyota.
I worked last night, got up early this morning to have a bash at spraying contact cleaner on the connection, but when I realised how much stuff has to be removed, I had to abandon the job. I've been offered a replacement abs unit on here, but it's a little bit expensive for me. I could get myself a cheaper one, but not an exact match for the car, and no-one round here with tech 2 to put it right, so basically, I'm stuffed.
I'm not sure about the exhaust blow now either. Is it the manifold to downpipe o ring or the manifold to head gasket, I can't be sure. Can I warrant spending money next Monday, only to have the same problem afterwards?
The tax runs out at the end of the month and that's the deciding factor. I'm not going to re-tax it without solving these problems first, so the future of the cdx is decidedly shaky. The mot runs out on June 20th, and obviously won't go through as it is.
So, it looks like the Previa bus is going to get another airing, which is not a bad thing really, it's the most reliable and versatile car I've ever owned.
I'm absolutely gutted really, because I really like the cdx, it looks lovely polished up, and is basically a good car.
I can't even offer it up for sale on here because of my post count, so it'll probably be parked in my front garden and I'll do the work as and when.
Ho-hum.
