Well as all our exhausts do, mine finally died yesterday. I could see one pipe sitting a lot lower than the other at the back so nipped down to the local exhaust place to see what was up thinking it was just a knackered rubber. I was a bit wrong! The whole lot has rusted through. Can see daylight through all the pipes after the middle boxes! The boxes were knackered too. The pipes and boxes looked like you could poke them with a screwdriver and you'd go right through. The local exhaust place wanted £290 to replace the from the cat back with 2 middle boxes and the pipes but the boxes were an unknown brand. After hearing enough on here about how crap they can be I took the details down and pottered off somewhere else.

Enter Peco Exhausts. Who remembers them eh? Well they're trading as Cybrand now and are doing exhausts for some serious cars but their offices and factory are in the same place - only 15 minutes up the road from me so I paid them a visit expecting it to be way more expensive. What a surprise I got! They were doing some exhausts for the Oulton Park track cars and I highly doubt somewhere like that would use a naff company. Lovely guy came out and measured everything up and talked over all of the options. Decided to keep it the same as it is now. 2 centre boxes and no backbox leading to twin exits, all stainless and built from stock pipe bent to shape. He went away, did some sums and came back with £300 all in. She'll be going in next week or the week after.

Really can't fault the customer service at all. These guys really knew their stuff and wouldn't have any problems using them again.

Not sure I'd be putting on a stainless (even if I could tolerate the harsh noise) that's 4 times the cost of a decent quality mild steel one, purely for longevity reasons, as that doesn't really make financial sense, unless you plan to keep it for 15-20yrs.

  I did wonder if it would get this response. I have every intention of keeping the car a while yet. I could change the exhaust myself yes but I wanted a bit more noise from it and a different look at the back so without having all the tools to fabricate/weld it myself, a decent exhaust place seemed the next best option. I was right then TB, Bosal was mentioned by the local place when I asked what boxes they'd use. Thought that was one of the ones to run away from!

To be honest, the car's my baby and I don't mind spending on it to get it how I want it.

Could have kept the cost down even more by fitting a 2.0 exhaust Cat Middle & Back fits straight on. Done it on mine no probs.

Remember Peco from my old mini cooper days. 

If the price of a standard replacement is so close to the price of a stainless zorst then go for it. 
Obviously Eternal is the cheapest option but we choose what we can afford.
I fitted stainless on my 3.2 about five years ago and it cost more than what you've been quoted. I knew it was not an economic option but still did it anyway.

Eternal for me - only experience on 6 pots but excelent quality and fit - sure 4 pot systems from Eternal as good

Very happy with the system that went on the 2.2, centre box was quite thick. Back boxes a bit thin, but compared to old school proper gm zorst that came off, no real noise increase.

Picking it up tomorrow, rather excited! Seems odd looking out on the drive and not seeing it there. Have modified a Vectra VXR rear bumper insert I picked up for peanuts to fit on the Omega too so there's a new piece of trim at the bottom too. Measured up with the quad pipes and (to me anyway), looks pretty damn smart!

... And I'll be going straight back at 9am tomorrow to have words! I was told it would be as quiet as the system that was on (OEM minus back box), it's not. It's much louder. The pipes stick out half a mile past the bumper to the point where it would be possible to burn and catch your legs on them and both sets of pipes are on the piss, not level and sit way too low down in the bumper recesses.

Not a happy bunny. Although they do have to fix it because I haven't paid for it yet.

Oh dear, sorry to hear that ( no pun intended ). Someone at the Wycombe meet had quad zorst's ( closer together, M3 style ) on their car and I thought it looked alright.    Noise levels, well put it this way, we heard him leave.

These when they were measured up were flush with the bumper and they looked brilliant. Now they're stuck out about 5 inches they look bloody stupid. Just annoyed with all the false promises! Took them two days to make this! Although they did make the centre boxes from scratch. It might get a little quieter when it cokes up a bit.
