Something for nothing.
« on: 14 May 2012, 21:12:38 »

Did a personal effects job in Hendon today. When all was said & done the customer could'nt get this up his stairs & asked if he could leave it on the container. Being the obliging chap i am i said of course he could.
After meeting lodger Steve with his trailer it's now in my living room waiting to replace the tired unit in my den!

It's handbuilt & of no real value but i trawl antique/salvage places & reckon it's worth £2/£300. It's pretty heavy & has a double drawer at the bottom. Either way it's bespoke & imperfect, certainly not fron Ikea etc. & being a bit of a nostalgic collecter of allsorts i'm made up with it! 8)

Like that. And I suspect that is proper tree wood  :y last a life time that will. My bed I made from hard wood that had been outside in all weathers for 50+ years. The dimensions of it before cutting where 18 inches by 3 inches. No idea of what wood it is but after cutting and planing it is beautiful to look at. Shame it covered by a mattress and the bedding.
