I speak from experience when I say that RB doesn't shift on his advertised prices, otherwise mine might well have come from him 5 years ago. The fact that he's shifted quite a few Omegas, and still does, makes me think enough buyers are prepared to pay, so good luck to him.

There's nothing like an owners' forum to devalue a car. I see this with the kit car forums I frequent too. The fact is that, if you take a broader view of the market, Omegas at that price are a bargain compared with similar vehicles, and good ones are getting less easy to find.

How many £750 Omegas have a mileage that low? How many are completely sorted cars ready to rack up a load of miles without any bother? My experience is that most Omegas of any mileage offered for sale need quite a bit of work to get them up to scratch, and that includes low mileage cars. I'd say in particular low mileage cars because low annual mileage plus a 20k service interval takes its' toll worst on a low mileage car.

Just buy this and have plenty of change ...

Bose and a different head unit?????????? it's worth 3 grand for that alone!!

If I had the money (assuming there's nothing wrong with it) I'd have that like a shot

Then stick a 3.2 in it...... ;)

Whilst its a high price, its not that outrageous. Its (superficially, at least) a tidy car, very low mileage, from an established trader.

At that mileage, unless it was a dog not visible from pics, I'd put it easily at £3.5k

D.

Find me another, 3.2 Elite, with similar mileage for less.

Its worth that, because low mileage 3.2's are not very common. Given the state of most Omega's you see for sale, its worth it.

Also like to know what "book" you are reading!  ;D

Mine
3.2 elite, 2003, 21K, 1 owner, yearly service, 2 cambelts done at 4 yearly intervals, 3 month warranty, full tank of fuel and I paid 2.7k. 5 months ago. Tyres had 6mm depth and I got a service, MOT and half price cambelt change thrown in. Not a spot of rust or dents or anything wrong with it.

So Mr Bugden seems like daylight robbery.

CAP

In your first post you said that £4.5k was crazy money because the book price is £750.  If you truely believe that they are only worth £750, then why on earth would you pay £2700 for yours?  Doesn't make sense to me.   :-\

Personally, I'd say it was maybe £1000 over-priced, but no more.   :y

None taken. I thought 2.7k was overpriced, but given all the extras that were thrown in, the actual price of the car would have been a lot less.

The RB car is nearly 2k more. And from previous experience, it would probably need quite a few things to bring up to scratch.

I am not saying that he needs to or has to sell it for £750. I just find the price quite high. As Kevin said, I am looking to buy another Omega and due to the fact that he will not make any price adjustments for work that needs to be done on the car, I don't even feel the need to pursue this particular car. Otherwise I would have been quite interested.

At the end of the day it is a 10 year old car. If someone wants to spend 4.5k on it, then that's their choice. I find it silly. But going by some of the above posts, you guys must be rolling in money.

So no 10 year old car is worth more than, what? £2.7k presumably?

Don't get me wrong, RB is absolutely top end of the Market, and as such yes he is expensive. But you did say book price is £750.

Anyway. Going by your sig, the fact your arguing the case means i/we are not fools. (at least not all the time)  There for.... We win. ;)
