Gran Tourismo 5
« on: 06 April 2008, 17:10:13 »

Wow!  8-)

Ok, I am seriously impressed!
Looks beautiful and plays like a dream.
This is just the pared down version while they complete the full game (due for release toward the end of the year).

If you have a PS3 I highly recommend this. :)

Now, how much are those force feeddback steering wheels....

stunning game, and it does show a glimps of the power of the ps3, but also its biggest weakness. It takes soo long to program ps3 games.

Which going to be a problem for a long time to come...

Get your winnings up to 80,000 credits and then gor to the GT5 showroom. That can get you a tuned Evo 9  8-)

Oh and fave track has to be the Alpine one (forgot the name), stunning background, makes you forget about the bl**dy hairpin bends!!

I'd decided I wouldn't get a PS3 as I don't have a HD telly... Changed my mind when I saw GT5 being released and am just trying to convince the wife we need it!!!!  ;) ;) ;)

My girlfriend was trying desperately to get me a set of omega car mats for my birthday last month, never managed to get me any and i've been on the hunt ever since, hence my recent posts if anyone had noticed, however after seeing this post i figured i'd text her and tell her to get me this instead!!

big fan of driving games, havent been able to get a new decent game for my ps3 as money's been so tight with the car so with any luck... :D

To play GT5 I would have to buy a PS3. That ain't gonna happen until Sammy is found.

The programming is no harder than any otehr main stream console but, because its the most capable, the graphics requires greater levels of detail which is where the work is.

This will be true for all the next gen consoles as they hit the PS3 levels of performance.

As well as the game developers, remember the programming tools need to be developed as well.  I suspect these haven't been optimised and are missing features currently, making development harder.  And the game developers still need to get to grips with this. So the coding cycle will improve, both in quality and time, and this will allow better games.  The PS3 hardware has been available to developers for long enough now, though, and they should be getting there now though.
