james v6cdx rang me this morning and said they got 6ins of snow there where kevin wood lives and i got a very sunny morning here in wales but windy though, we dont have snow all that much now not like we use when i was a child it use be up to your front door at one point and could'nt get out  ::)

Yeah -- I have fond memories of those days -- the street we were in in Aberdare used to be full of snow and all the houses fronted the pavement ( no front gardens) so when it started to thaw the postman kept getting buried as it came off the rooftops in an avalanche. 'Course back then we had sun in the summer, snow in the winter, not t'other way around !!!

As much as we complain I am glad it doesnt snow like it did in the late 70's

I remember the 6 foot + snow drifts  etc and opening the door in the morning to an icy white sheet.

At least there's one thing.  I dont have to go out armed with a spade an hour before I wanna go anywhere.

I still go prepared - shovel in boot, blankets etc if I'm expecting bad weather.  Flask of hot water and some cuppa-soups if really bad.  Must be my age!

Since I got back into driving the auto's I had a play in the snow and on the ice with the winter mode and am affraid to admit it wasnt for me any more.

Maybe just an age thing, but I now go along with the idea of only going out if I have to, and if it's showing -0 or less on the dash temp then I start looking for excuses to go back in.   :-[

yep, thats me.    Wimp :-[
