Never trust a Bear
« on: 18 May 2012, 20:03:07 »

Webby the Bear brought me a little 'thanks' gift yesterday, that I'm enjoying tonight.

I'm getting in a bit of a muddle.

Thanks Webby, I am enjoying it :y

Its similar strength, quite weak for cider, but it slips down far too easy ;D

20 years ago, it (Stella lager) was possibly one of the strongest (5.2% IIRC) available in pubs, and you know as well as I do, when some people get "beyond tipsey", they get aggressive/violent.

Now, Stella is weaker (4.2?) and other lagers have become stronger, so Stella is approx the same as anything else.

I never drink Stella on draft, only bottled.  It seems to quickly get an aftertaste on draft, as if the landlord have mishandled it, yet their other beers are fine. Strange, but true.

You might. But Stella ain't French. There are 2 other languages you might end up speaking aswell, or instead.
