LPG kit

Will an LPG kit off a 2.5 or a 2.6 fit a 3.2, with possible adaptations?

I believe the inlet manifolds are different, so you would have to get yours drilled to take the gas injectors, I'd probably look at new injectors anyway ... also, given that you can get a complete kit, all new, for around £700 .. just what are you saving by getting a 2nd hand one with all the unknowns thereto ???

You'll need new pipework anyway, the tank will be well into its 10 year life, the evaporator may well be oldish, and I've already mentioned the injectors .... :(

Personally, if I was LPGing another one . it would be the LD way .. :)

Yes, would be best to use a 3.2 or 3.0 manifold. It'll run on a 2.5/2.6 manifold but the airways are a little narrower, and the injectors and FPR need to be swapped over.

Also, a 3.2 really needs a 4 hole tank and 8mm liquid plumbing from the tank to give its' best although you can get away with a multivalve if it flows reasonably well.

Injector nozzles might need enlarging. You will need to calibrate it so be sure that you get the lead and software to achieve this. :y

Is it a Stag kit or something else?

Depends what your thinking of fitting, but generally, by the time a used kit is fitted may as well buy knew via LD / Tilo.

Needs software, cable, Lapy for set up. But with your skills Shack, I'm sure you drill and tap a few holes in a manifold. See Kevs guide in maintanance index

Are you looking at the one being broken currently?

Having had some experience with a various types of LPG, make sure you fit sequential gas injection (no crappy mixers), but also fit a brand new kit.

Its around £600 for V6, its too much of a bodge using second hand. Although know some people have done it, I feel you have too many unknowns & LPG can be quite sensitive to V6 setup.

Given the huge wealth of vastly knowledgeable people here with Stag Kit, I'd fit that if converting my 3.2.

While on the subject, I have a feeling somebody gave me a manifold to drill... Buggered if I can remember who though, or even where it is. :-\

It really depends how much it is, maybe sub 150 quid, worth a shot, but given its 600 for brand spankers, it hardly seams worth it second hand.

Few of us have stag kits now, between us all, clocked up 100,000 easy without any issues.

Whats key is how many miles you do, with a cost of say 600, you are looking around 7 to 8K ish miles to repay.

If you do 15k miles a year its a no brainer, but my mileage has dropped to around 4k a year now, which is stopping me converting the 3.2. With the 2.2 doing 4k a month, it was a different ball game  :y

Unless it's a top brand like Prins in good nic, I wouldn't. Buy new.

Another thing is that we know the current Stag kit we use does work very well on 3.2, with no lag, unlike earlier Stag kits. Very well. Albeit being an utter shite to set up to keep Bank 2 trims under control.

However, as chrisgixer says, if its somethings like Prins, that is an excellent kit, but the setup software is (Prins) dealer only.

Indeed. Prins refuse to deal with anybody except approved installers. They won't sell you a kit directly. So most certainly won't supply software or leads directly either.

Infuriating, but there we are.

As I will only be doing about 3K PA in the 3.2, it is hardly worth it, hence my vague interest in a SH set advertised. :y
