Typical Brit, assuming everyone from a certain county fits a sterotype

It's certainly easy to juge other people's actions from afar.  They pobably should have just shot it straight away if a tranquiliser was not available and trying to flee in to the city, which is what seems to be the case.  But I wasn't there so cannot be sure
