One for the aircraft buffs,
« on: 28 May 2012, 17:24:11 »

While vanning last weekend near Cardiff airport,a C130 was flying circuits around about us,only this one looked a little different it had what I would call like blisters just forward of the tailplane.
Never saw anything like it on a Herc before, maybe some kind of anti missile thing.

No nothing like any of those,I was thinking it's something newest because RAF St Athan is just down the road from Cardiff airport ,and they do a lot of mods and maintenance there.

The small pods you describe are part of the Anti-Missile defences, fitted to most military aircraft now, not just the Herc

Hi endwood,I think your got it there,it was I think doing touch and go's at rhoose, also saw an Hawker Hunter and Tiger Moth over the weekend,
Any body interested in vanning or camping the rally field on Porthkerry Caravan Park is ideal for plane spotting.
