Renault clit Diesel 2009 question???
« on: 02 June 2012, 20:30:08 »

Anyone know the service shedule for a 1.5 dci??? Looking to do one for my sister just need some idea of what needs doin. Last time it was done at 18k just oil, air, & pollen filter, and oil. No mention of fuel filter  :o . So I was thinking of doing that too this time. Just wonderin what kind of job the fuel filter is??? Is it self bleeding??? theres lots of info on the mark II but not the mark III???

Regards

I know that some of the newer small French diesel engines have a fuel filter that is 'for life'. i.e. it NEVER needs changing.

Why not contact the dealer and ask their advice? You could get a quote for the cost of oil and air filters whilst your there, sometimes the prices can be surprisingly cheap...

Is it self bleeding???

Nearly all French diseasels have a hand primer bulb fitted under the bonnet, look for the fuel lines where they enter the filter and follow them back, you should see it...

Cheers Birkhead, I was wonderin why it hadn't been changed, but if its 'on for life' that may answer it. Gonna get a price for everythin else from Renault.  :y

I'm also using clit but thats not diesel.. after using cheapo oem parts for brakes, shocks etc, I'm convinced that original parts cost less in the long term..
