Rant ahead.

What the opps is up with some people? How do they pass their driving tests? Pootling along today with all the family in the car taking my mum out for her birthday lunch. There's some tight twisty roads where I live and I was doing maybe 15mph through a corner. Now this particular bend you HAVE to stay right over to your side otherwise you'll hit the oncoming car.

Have a guess what happened.

A tank of a Lexus (I'm guessing the new LS model because it was MASSIVE) tore past me half way onto my side of the road doing at least 30 on a blind corner. I swerved as quick as I could and we must have passed each other with maybe an inch to spare. Bad news is I jumped up the curb, which has knackered the steering geometry. The curb also smashed into the mud flap and I thought nothing of this until I heard the dragging sound. I pulled over as soon as it was safe to hoping to find the Lexus had stopped, only to find the side skirt had detached itself and the only thing that was holding it on was a screw going into it from the mudflap and the Lexus was nowhere in sight. There's a slight scrape and a few scratches on the wing too from the bushes too but I think they'll polish out.

Not a happy bunny. Has anyone got a passenger side Star Silver side skirt going spare for a facelift? Mine is in the hedge where I had to stuff it because I couldn't get it in the car with everyone in there but from what I saw, it's wrecked. Rant over.

Right well been and picked it up, it's scratched to hell on the bottom but I think I'll get away with putting this one back on. Rather lucky escape I think.

Some people should never be let on the roads!!!

Was going up dublin mountain few yrs ago in the snow, happy enough cos the gritter was just in front of me so all goin well. Nearly at the top when a female coffin dodger in a range rover pulled out of her drive about 200yds in front of the gritter and started coming down the hill!!!! Small little road no room for gritter and range rover so gritter had to stop while coffin dodger sailed past!! Next thing I know gritter is sliding down the hill backwards ending up on its side in a field. Needless to say range rover was long gone,!!

I had a run in with a Golf GT TDI last week, on the A404, heavy traffic, 60mph he's glued to my bumper. I see brake lights a few cars ahead so slow to 50 but he's still there, guy in front then does the panic burying of the brake pedal and we all come to a halt, look in the mirror and he isn't there, next thing I feel his door mirror run the entire offside from rear panel to front door taking out the mirror as it goes.

Should be an easy repair unlike his offside B pillar that he wedged into the front wheel on the 16 ton box in the next lane  the action of those protuding wheel nuts caused a circular cheese grater effect on both doors and the pillar 

Already got the liability admission from his insurer so now i'm hoping for a cat D write off and buy back

   too many people think a driving licence is a right. It is a privalige. They also think every one is physic so there is no need to use any indication for whatever manouver they are about to perform. And as for traffic lights, well they were green when I looked 50 yards ago so I went through. Trafic light cameras on every set would certainly make driving safer and probably bring in more revenue than speed cameras

I was stopped at a set of traffic lights in town on saturday on red and a man with a young family came past me, how he missed getting hit was i dont know, i sounded my horn and got the bird, if i could have caught him he would have been a sorry man. i don't think they read the highw.ay code
