Apparently they're a pain in the arse to balance after they've been repaired. It was once described like this to me by a tyre fitter: Would you wear a ripped condom with a bit of sellotape on the end?

Company in Gillingham,Kent called Lepson,s.

They can repair quite serious damage to alloys and have been doing this type of work for years.I have had 2 very succesfull buckled rims repaired over the years..seems to be a bit of a "Black Art" as they use all sorts of strange tools and will only offer a repair if it can be done properly and safely.

They won,t rip you off and they also do a full refurb service too...worth checking out as they offer a collection and delivery service too.

It is do-able if done properly but, like Del boy says if done wrong the result is... Well, I'm sure you can imagine.
A guy at work HAD a Beemer like the one in Del boys avatar, going round a fast bend when the right rear wheel fell apart.... He was VERY lucky to get out of the car.
Just think of how much a new wheel would cost and that's the price you put on your life and anyones near you... Just my thought....
