windy and close shave
« on: 07 June 2012, 21:35:50 »

it's so windy down here in the merry old south west. driving back from Newton abbot to Plymouth on A38 at a modist 60 (as it was hammering it down with rain) a massive branch from a tree snapped off about 50 yards in front of me causing me to take advasive action (ie cover my eyes and pray ;D) i swerved to avoid said branch luckily keeping control of the car.good job I wasn't going faster or lord knows what would have happened. mean while both kids were fast asleep oblivious to the situation. just goes to show anything can happen when you least expect it :y :y

I'd like to say I've always managed to avoid trees that have fallen into the road...   ...but that would be a lie ;D

So nice to see Guffers stirring again :D :D :D

Ian, I've had similar experience in a much older, heavier car (RR Classic) but at least had the knowledge that I could probably get away
with running over/through it ::)

Mine was in a Chrysler Voyager vs. large moose. :o That would have been messy. ::)
