One For you Discovery owners
« on: 10 June 2012, 18:23:11 »

had this from a mate of mine who has inherated a 97 2.5tdi discovery

"When the disco starts there is a bit of white smoke then that clears and its
fine, when i switch the car off after it running a bit there is water
pouring out the bottom somewhere is that a cooling problem or is it
the head gasket like i was told? I think its more of a cooling problem
as in a hose is old or something along those lines. I an going to try
find where the water is coming from in the morning. The car dont get
hot while its moving but temp soars when its had a run and you not
moving but as soon as you start moving again it settles down, it just
dont seem like a head gasket problem to me. I might be wrong but i
dunno lol.......

I have not seen this disco but i still think hg gone anyone any ideas as i know you lot are mindful of knowledge :P ::) ;D

Help Much Appreciated maybe a virtual beer or two for winning answers :y ::)

Sounds like steam coming from the exhaust anh your guess is wright HG gone :y
Easy to fix you don't need to remove the timing belt.
rocker cover off ,take rockers off, pull push rods out, unbolt the head then the heads off.
Mind if your mate does fix it the head will need skimmed.
