In fact, you can see what caused it - one of the search engines went radio rental...

The most users ever online was 348 on 06. Apr 2008 at 01:19.
The most members ever online was 84 on 28. Mar 2010 at 21:54.
The most guests ever online was 114 on 22. Aug 2010 at 16:20.
The most search engines ever online was 328 on 06. Apr 2008 at 01:19.

One thing I've noticed since I've been on here is that as far as im aware no members have passed away. when i was on freeserve chat rooms they used to drop like flies. which was quite sad even though some i hadn't ever met.

So from that I can conclude ...

The home page figure is with the new site
The old site did achieve a higher figure but was purely search engines without any users
The info on the home page should be ignored as it is inaccurate as to actual number of users
