Bad luck
« on: 15 June 2012, 07:57:30 »

For second time in ten days had a suicide when I had night shift on a train. Engineer didn't know what was it so we went to see, at 01:00 last night. Nothing at first but some 100 m behind the train found a shoe, a bag and .... you know, parts of someone. Seemed to be waiting for suitable train - me again. Delayed two hours due to this accident, ran out of all cigarettes, listening to all grumpy passengers untill telling them the reason for stoping  .....
I just don't know what makes people to want to die such a messy death. And the number is increasing every year

I feel for you :'( It's such a selfish way to go because of the impact on the other people involved and the family >:(

But I can't even begin to imagine what the person must have been going through that was so bad they had to end it all :(

That's what's shocking yes. Looking into few hundred tons going straight into his way waiting for impact. What's going trough their minds? Ok, it's a fast way to go but a dirty, messy one.

A very difficult question to answer Danzig but I'm sure the trauma experienced by those left behind to grieve, or clear up the mess, doesn't figure too much.

This has been a horrible experience for you without doubt, but it’s also a sad reflection on the hopelessness (or in some cases indulgence) to be found in many troubled souls.

I saw a man do the same when I worked at surbiton station. The man waited for the portsmouth to london fast thru train and as it went thru the station he just jumped out and bang!. The services where picking bits of him up a 1/4 of a mile up the track. It was very shocking to see and I still dont know how anybody could get themselves to jump/step out infront of a train.

Indeed Cem, sad but they figure that out to late....
Trainmanone, I believe we are at the top of suicides per population, right after Finland somewhere....However, that explains why there is only around 1.5 million people in my country....

I'm really sorry to hear you have had to go through this horrible business yet again danzigfan & so soon after the last one too! :(
It affects different people in different ways & some deal with it better than others, but it must be shocking beyond belief to have to go through it more than once! :-\
