cruise control no worky worky.....

got all the bits together for fitting it to my 1999, 2.0l 16v. manual omega.
the four wire stalk, cylindrical brake switch, clutch switch.cc module....all the gear and no go..
any ideas where to look??
check the stalk, brake pedal switch and clutch switch....dont get it....help please ive been looking forward to this working for around a month. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :y

is your brake pedle switch of the 4 pin type, 2 for brake lights 2 for cc

Back when I did mine it really was 'plug and play' which was just as well!!
Can't see the car itself being the problem, and if all the components are properly seated and connected, then it must be a dodgy part. When you say it doesn't work, do you mean it can't be 'set' at all? The pedal switches are crucial, and a pita to fit / remove, so I hope it's not them! Anyone near you be able to lend you a known working stalk or module, to at least rule them out?

it wont do anything at all, ive got the later brake switch x4 wires. ive tested the stalk and i know it communicates with the brake and clutch switches. kinda effed off really.
they are a near rare car here and there all bloody diesel.

You've removed & checked that there are 4 contacts too?  :-\
Just because there are 4 wires to what you already have fitted to the car doesn't mean that the fitted brake switch is the 4 pin switch.  :y :y

thats what i asked but never got a reply, i did glynns other day, he only had the 2 pin brake light swtch fitted, once swopped over for a 4 pin he tells me all working great

Both switches LOOK the same. Cars with or without cruise will have 4 wires to the brake switch. Remove your existing switch & count the number of terminals!

going on the fitting guide on the site it looked to me that the 2pin was a smaller slimmer switch.
i didnt know there was around 3 or 4 different models.
as you said they do look the same and i dont have the 4 pin.....
although now feeling little humiliated i now do have an answer.
i was honestly under the impression that i had the 4 pin. other wise i would'nt of wasted anybodys time.but hey.

my cruise control buttons have always been dodgy and at one time impossible to get working at night with the lights on, me thought an earth problem perhaps, but then sometimes it did work at night.  I will have to remove the switch and clean the old grease out i think, as its annoying for it not to work all the time.

Not on a cable throttle car.
Yes if you have drive by wire throttle.  :y

I always assumed mine didn't work cos it needs to be switched on.
