It is my duty to my company shareholders, me and then to my family to pay as little tax as possible where it is just legalized theft and then largely wasted. I plan and spend my money to much greater effect than any Government does, from the 50% it steals from me.
Look at your P60 for last year on how much you made. Just imagine how much more comfortably you would live if only 25% went in tax instead of 50%.
IMHO all Governments should do is create laws, a police and judicial system and protect us with military forces. This could along with a health and educational funds could easily be funded through VAT and other excise duties. Everything else should be done privately, with a legal framework to make things work.
A private health system that you pay into through NI would be immeasurably more efficient and effective, than we have currently got. It would be much more like the French system which is arguably the best in the world.
Likewise with education, we all collectively pay into a fund, which then gives a voucher for each child to spend at the school of their choice. More expensive schools like Eton, would obviously require a extra fees.
