ok I may be biased, but a scimitar is cheap has loads of legroom, (mate at 6 ft 10 has no problem) and a few have had omega V6 transplants.

Having been driving a MX5 today for a mate I'll second that it's probably big enough, although getting in and out can be fun ::)

Did well today actually... W Plate, 55k (documented), fairly comprehensive history, full MOT, £1400 :y

RX8 is apparently mucho fun to drive, but fuel and oil consumption are a bit high to say the least. Averages around 23-25mpg, with reports that 'enthusiastic' driving see that average drop to sub 15mpg.  Many drivers report using at least a litre of oil every 1000 miles.

Grin inducing, but wallet emptying.  :y

Is the RX8 the rotary engine ? Did that technology never quite take off and is that why it is so thirsty for oil ?
If it is the rotary engine what is its durability (when is it likely to blow up ?)

The tip seals on a rotary engine have to be lubricated by total loss. It's the nature of the beast, a little like a 2 stroke engine.

Not as durable as a piston engine, undoubtedly, but a very light engine that revs to the heavens and develops a lot of power for its' weight, and it also keeps the C of G low. Perfect in a sports car that gets weekend use. Arguably less suitable for a motorway mile-muncher. Good compliment to an Omega in fact. :y
