Re the nhs? Major govt at fault. According to a labour mp.

Anyway. Good news on fuel duty. No matter what the Daily Mail readers think.

NHS debt problem - Blair govt. and their PFI initiative. Its a financial timebomb which is going to explode in the future.
A small comfort I suppose to see fuel hike scrapped (postponed more like).

I have a solution. Only adults who have paid National Insurance in the UK since working age can use the facility for free, everyone else has to pay or take out an insurance. Anyone under the working age who's parents have paid National Insurance since working age also get to use the facilities free of charge. If you are new to the UK then you have to build up credits say for 10 years then you can use the National Health until that time they will have to put their hands in their own pockets oh and one more thing OAPs go to the front of the Qs ::)

I'll probaly get hammered for this but what the hell, its my opinion :)

The NHS budget has been ring fenced.Imo it shouldnt have been, but it has.Im  not a big fan of the current Tory party, but every time Labour get in they destroy the economy. Historically the Tories get back in and have to make thetough decisions to sort out the mess. Doesnt seem to be working this time because the mess is so much bigger than it ever has been previously and this administration doesnt seem to know its arse from its elbow. The only good thing I could say about them is that they cant possibly be as bad as the previous lot. They were by far the worst govt.this country has ever seen in modern times. It will take generations to fix what can be fixed from the mess they left.Much of it is irrepairable and cannot ever be fixed.

Private finance initiative in its original form was first introduced by the Major govt.and was probably a good idea. Nu Liebore turned it into something else entirely, something utterly cynical(like everything else they did) which could be spun to look like a new shiny bright way of doing things, but which was always going to virtually bankrupt the NHS in the years ahead. It was tantamount to taking out a long term mortage with a payday loan company. The amounts of money involved are truely staggering.
The big con was that it is public borrowing which was able to be disguised as private money. How very New Labour.
