Holiday from hell
« on: 28 June 2012, 15:12:29 »

As per the title....
Thought we would go away for a month this year, what with the wife retiring, however......
A week before we are due to go, Mother in Law is found at 1.15am laying in a pool of blood after a fall. Ambulanced to Stoke Mandeville. Finally allowed home, we cancel the first four days holiday to get her settled, and carers set up, and family visits. ;)
We finally get down to Wareham last Monday :y
On Tuesday pm, we get a call from Age Concern that my mother has activated her bleeper and paramedics had been called.
On Wednesday, swmbo was ill, and had to have an emergency apointment at Wareham Medical Centre. Now on Anti-biotics and two lots of other tablets.
Thursday clear....hurrah.
On Friday, we get a text from daughter to say son-in-law collapsed in Burnley with suspected heart attack, and was in Blackpool hospital. Before she could ring Brackley school to say she was taking my grandson out to go north, the school rang her to say grandson had fallen, may have broken his wrist and needed to go to hospital.
This Monday, I woke at 5.00am with chronic stomach pains and was really sick, and have strained my middle section. Have a job to get in and out of the car.

We came home yesterday afternoon to check on things before going back down on Friday...over 4 hours to do a two hour or so journey >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Now had a call from Stoke Mandeville to say they want M-I-L's heart monitor back by 10.00am tomorrow.
Trying to get to Brackley today to see what the situation is there. Car is running ok, but does not seem to be up to its normal self. :(

What a time of it! Funny how one piece of bad luck seems to follow another at times.

Does anyone have an inkling as to why this is....(new boiler fitted 2 years ago ...Glow-Worm Ultracom 24hxi)

Me and swmbo really at a low ebb now :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I'm really sorry to hear about all your problems and hope all your family fully recover and are okay and you finally get your holiday.

There will be either a 3-way valve or 2 x 2 way valves to control the water flow for the hot water and heating, it sounds like the 3 way valve is stuck open on heating or if 2-way valves the heating one is stuck open.

IMHO a carer that steals is one of the lowest forms of life on the planet.

If it wasn't for bad luck you would be having no luck at all.

Sadly trouble coming all at once is nothing new: "When sorrows come, they come not single spies, but in battalions" - William Shakespeare

Keep your chin and spirits up and you and your family will get through this and on to better times.

Sorry to hear about this monster run of bad luck Tony. You really have been put through the ringer lately haven't you. You must have done something really wicked in a previous life.  ;)

Seriously, I hope all turns out good in the end mate.  :y
