Car Alarm
« on: 28 June 2012, 19:06:38 »

Hi to you all again
I thought  I would be posting a message about why we love our Omega,in stead I find myself posting a message about the cars Alarm.
I have checked you past links and  I think three options ,yes only three the forth would not happen that is scrap it.
One check the bonnet  switch I bent it up straight.  Two by a new alarm, and Third  disconnect the old unit.
Now let just say I want to take the old one out .Now if I follow your links I know I wont have a Alarm system again but will there be other problems?
Just a small note the reason why this posting is I parked the car up at 5.30 pm all safe and sound, then at 10.15 pm all hell broke lose with the alarm rattling the windows.
Last night same again at around 5 hours later yes out side again telling the car to be quiet, people are trying to sleep.

Thank you again

Have had exactly the same symptoms as you are experiencing so i disconnected the bonnet alarm, problem still existed so i removed the powersounder. Hey presto NO!! still happening so now it,s in via the back door and push down the door knob. Any ideas  as to why this is still happening fellow OOFers.  :y :y

There are 2 alarm related sounders there - one is the problematic power sounder, which makes an electronic noise. The other is a horn (different to main horn), which is, errr, a horn noise ;D

Remove the powersounder if alarm is going off randomly.

Other things, are on estate, check window break sensor, and unplug the bonnet sensor on all.

A good code reader can say why the alarm activated :)
