click on "start" then "my computer",then right click over "drive C" and explore, then right click over "program files" then explore again.look for avg folder and delete contents then use one of the system cleaners to do the rest :y
followed instructions  and it just comes up with "cannot delete avgadvisorx.dll access is denied"
make sure the disk is full or write protected and the file is currently not in use
 :'( :'(

Once it has deleted everything else ... reboot the computor and then try again .. :) that file is in use .. after a reboot it might not be as all the other bits of the programme might have gone :)

You could try...

CTRL-ALT-DEL will bring up the task manager that should allow you to kill the process.

Run msconfig   Disable AVG in startup then reboot.

Just a update I went in on safe mode and managed to delete all the files except for 2 dll files. This seems to have cleared it up as it is running a lot better now. cheers for the help :y

You are clearly now without AV. So try to uninstall AVG from control panel (will probably fail), then install another AV product.
