« on: 02 July 2012, 13:01:30 »

I cannot unlock the glove box on my Elite. Key goes in ok, turns both ways but cannot operate lock. Am I missing something?? :(

If it's turning it should be unlocking :-\ :-\

Not wishing to point out the obvious, but you are lifting the handle to try and open it aren't you? ???

Incidentally... Does the handle move when you try to open it or not?

Yup, have lifted and wiggled it!! Key moves freely both way with no resistance at all.  Didn't know if there was an extra "security" button or something. :-\

Sounds like the handle or lock has failed. Bugger.

You are probably in the realms of breaking off the handle, so you can open glovebox. Replacement handle is around £5 new, without lock barrel. You normally reuse old lock barrel, but who knows if its this, or the handle thats failed on yours.
