Marussia's test driver was hurt after her car hit a stationary lorry parked on the track while straight-line testing at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford.

How is a situation like that, in closed testing, even allowed to happen :-\ I know we all bemoan the H&S killjoys, but, really!

It does say it was 'low speed' but I imagine an F1 car would submarine quite happily under most trucks and probably come close to decapitating the driver..

Not sure she'll walk away from this one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-18685789

Quote
BBC Cambridgeshire presenter Chris Mann, who witnessed the crash, said the car had completed a circuit when it "suddenly accelerated" into the back of the lorry.

"From where I was standing it looked like the helmet took the brunt of the impact," he said.

"Strangely, the car suddenly accelerated into the lorry and the car went careering into the side of the loading board."

I'm guessing that's the end of her racing career: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-18711127

Indeed. How desperately sad to be cut down like that the first time she drove the car.  :(
