It's been years since I went to Reading station and I think it's had a re-shuffle since then.. do any of the locals know if it still has a pick-up/drop-off area, or do you have to park in the short stay beside it now?

I worked there last October and im sure i see cars dropping off further down the station. there's taxi ranks outside so you may be able to pick up there

There is a pick up drop off on both sides.  South side you MUST go into what looks like an underground car park to get to it. Failure to do so can very well incur a fine (FFS)

I haven't actually been in there myself since may, but that's my understanding after dropping off just outside the entrance, then worrying for two weeks about getting a fine in the post.

Cheers Chris - didn't actually see this before I went (as the phone rang) - ended up going my 'normal' route to the South entrance to find ... a big building site (That is I tend to go in from the ring road side - south west side) Ended up driving round to the (temporary) pick up/drop off area on the North side. The whole place looks like one big building site! But I think there's still a way in to the South side from the East, not that I could find it.

Hopefully the new design will be more sensible, and I'm glad you didn't encounter the pita system in place when we visited.

They have re done the bridges at Cow lane, by the festival site, as well last I looked. So major investment, good for the town.

I did indeed - though it did take a couple of phone calls and "So what can you see.. no.. no.. taxis, yes, so can I, are they under a concrete roof with white.. no? Oh.. wait.. where are you then? Does Google Maps work right now? You're where? Hm.. Maybe if you go over the other side? <pause> You *still* don't see me? Where the heck are you.. are you by.. oh.. I'll drive 'round!"
