Bl00dy weather!!
« on: 12 April 2008, 14:37:48 »

Well today i went to complete some of the things that need doning on the car.

1. replace passenger window guide - done eventually after some jigging about.

2. Replace door check strap mechanisum - started, the hubby broke it, then it started to rain.  :( i need to some how bend back the buckled metal thats in the hole or get some bigger screws.

3. ABS light on on dash after lpg conversion got code 0050 -checked connections on the back of the car, need to go and disconnect and reconnect them as i think their might be some dirt in them. but its raining.

4. Secure LPG ecu - looked at it, need to drill some holes but guess what its raining.

5. Sort gearbox leak- filled it up yet again. took 3ltrs after doing 188 miles. not good need to replace the torque converter seal ( i think) but its a 2 man job and i cant do it on my own as i dont have all the tools required.

6. sort out LPG bar pressure - its working slightly low about 0.2 of a bar to low. - need the laptop for this and jase is on it trying to fix it.

7. Re mapp the lpg - cant be done until i have sorted out the lpg bar pressure.

8. Throttle cable - needs replacing as it looks like its been butchered! -trying to located a second hand one.

but hey cant do anymore today as its rainin and buy the time it stops ill have to sort my sh*t out as im going out.

I no what you mean Marie, I had just got mum's engine back in and started bolting it down when we have just had the hail storm to end all hail storms. So I have packed up and will have another go next weekend.

have you tried wd40 or an evivilant. if not to get it off you might have to take the sump off!

nut is completely rounded off, nothing to grip to. easier to pay someone else to do it now i think.

I like to leave it to drain a while! Tend to take each side off the axle stand and lower it with the trolley jack to get the dregs out of the sump.  :y
Mine has the seperate oil filter element / can arrangement as well... just a pity you have such limited space to get the wrench / spanner in!

One piece spin on filters are so much easier!

Sun has just come out again now.... Might even wash it!  :D

Just bought some petrol for the mower and contemplating my first step into the garden this year... :-/

If I get the mower out it'll only rain again, won't it?

Oh, and I dumped my waste oil at last, all 50 litres of it. :o Ignored the shifty bloke at the tip who was suspicious of the quantity. ::)
