Quite a few years ago they added the little flaps on the roof to stop that, a lot of the video was made before then..

Most of that is old footage. The roof flaps and various fins and paraphernalia to stop them flipping are missing on the majority of flips. Those with flaps that still flip are pointing boot first when air gets under the back, by the looks.

They certainly seem closer to the limit more of the time that most other disciplines. :(

They're absolutely on the limit, 100% of the time .. I think that's the appeal (because there isn't any other appeal in turning left.. left.. left.. left.. left.. left.. left.. left.. left.. left.. left.. left.. left.. ;D)

;D didn't they used to have the short circuit round to un dizzy the drivers?

There are street circuits, and I think they do Laguna Seca? Which is a lovely circuit..
